| St Bonifacius Historical Society Receives Grant |

Dale Heitz, Treasurer of the St Bonifacius Historical Society receives a check from Michelle Swanson, Manager of Community & Local Government Relations of Xcel Energy. This grant was awarded to the St Bonifacius Historical Society for their work in Preserving the Heritage of the community with their publication "St Bonifacius, Minnesota 1909” This document includes over 50 Historic Photos of St Bonifacius and documents thru old Newspaper archives of the Business Climate of St Bonifacius in 1909. A sort of a who’s who of that era. It describes who owned the business, what type of merchandise they carried, and how and when the proprietor came to St Bonifacius. A glimpse of life
at the turn of the century in St Bonifacius.
President Tom Logelin said “it truly is amazing the true grit of these Pioneers. Through determination and hard work, they overcame their so called lack of formal education and left a legacy of accomplishment for all to be proud. We thank Xcel Energy for their financial assistance in preserving the work of these pioneers. Treasurer Heitz presented Michelle with a copy of the book.

Welcome to Minnetrista
The City of Minnetrista is located on the western bays of Lake Minnetonka and the agricultural rich plains and idyllic woodlands of southwestern Hennepin County.
The name, Minnetrista, is derived from the Native American word “minne” meaning waters, and “trista” meaning crooked. The 32 square miles are home to 4,358 residents (according to the 2000 census) who enjoy the rural residential and lakeside settings.
Whether you’re just passing through, or spending some time at one of the enchanting area parks, you will be welcomed in Minnetrista!

Click on ‘City Hall’ for forms available for download and to find information about permit requirements. Go to ‘Council and Commissions’ for meeting minutes and information about your local government representatives. View upcoming meeting agendas by date on the ‘Calendar.’ There is some interesting information about the area’s history under ‘History,’ and pictures and maps to all the parks in the city under ‘Parks.’ The ‘Public Safety Department’ has a lot of useful information about the Crime Fund, Volunteer Reserves, and the Citizens Academy.
