The Minnetrista Public Safety Department provides police and public safety services to the cities of Minnetrista and St. Bonifacius. The department employs 11 licensed police officers, three civilian employees, and has a dedicated group of 16 volunteer police reserve officers.
The department provides 24-hour uniformed police patrol service, criminal investigations, code enforcement, animal control, and traffic control.
The department also manages the emergency warning siren system and works with the Lake Minnetonka Emergency Planning Group, to train and plan for natural or man-made disasters. In 2005, the department formed a Community Emergency Response Team.
This team is a group of citizens who are trained and equipped to respond to disasters in their own neighborhoods.
The Minnetrista Public Safety Department works closely with members of the community on programs and events such as Crime Free Multi-Housing, National Night Out, the “Trista Day” public safety open house, Citizen’s Academy, and Neighborhood Watch.
Together with its community partners, the department strives to provide quality responsive service.
