St. Bonifacius ordinances
Winter parking restrictions
Winter parking restrictions are in effect from November 1 through April 1. Parking on city streets is prohibited between the hours of 2 and 7 a.m. Violators will be tagged. Some exceptions to the restrictions are being made in the business district. Call the city office for specific information.
Snow removal on city streets
When cleaning snow from your own driveway, keep in mind that it is unlawful to plow across a city, county, or state roadway. It is unlawful for anyone, especially commercial snow removal operators, to deposit snow in any fashion onto a public roadway. It’s also important to keep garbage and recycling containers at least three feet off of the roadway during the snow season. Property owners with surmountable curb or no curb may want to protect their lawns from snow plow damages by marking their property behind the curb or general curb area. Please assist the city and protect your family and property by keeping fire hydrants in your area free of snow as well.
Citzens required to clean up mosquito breeding sites
The city would like to remind its residents that an ordinance passed in 1998 requires citizens to clean up mosquito breeding sites on their property.
The intent of the ordinance is to help prevent the potential spread of disease from mosquitoes. Breeding sites include unused tires, pots, pans, cans, pails, bottles, small swimming pools, and other containers left outdoors in which water or debris may accumulate. Residents shall not knowingly create or allow these breeding sites to exist on property they own or occupy. When in doubt, dump it out.

Don’t forget your building permit

Permits are payable at the time they are picked up by the applicant, and are good for six months.
General permits can be issued on the spot at the city office for a fee of $30.50. General permits are needed for fences, re-roofing, re-siding, and window replacements.
